Nurse Clinics

The practice nurses are available by appointment only.

Reception will ask you what you need to see the nurse for so that they can book you with the correct nurse, with enough time to deal with your problem.

They can help: 

  • Minor injuries
  • Dressings
  • Injections
  • Removal of stitches
  • Cervical smears

They can also advise on a wide variety of health issues, but a GP is always available if the nurse requires help with your condition.

Minor Illness Clinics

We also hold daily minor illness clinics which are for patients with:

  • Symptoms of a cough
  • Cold
  • Sore throat
  • Ear problem
  • Backache

When you make an appointment for this clinic, the receptionists will ask for your symptoms in order that you are seen by the correct healthcare professional.

Childhood Immunisations

We run these clinics at the Medical Centre, but all appointments are arranged by child health who send out an appointment in the post.

Please ring the surgery if you are unable to attend and need to cancel the appointment.  We can see patients on an ad-hoc basis if necessary please ask reception.

Diabetic Clinic

Diabetic patients will be contacted by the practice when they are due for a routine appointment for diabetic checks and reception will be able to book you in for these.

If you have any problems in between your routine appointments please contact reception.

Family Planning

Our nurses are able to give advice on family planning and contraception. All the GP's in the practice provide antenatal and postnatal care.

Minor Surgery

Certain surgical procedures can be performed in the surgery.  This will need to be discussed with the doctor first.

Mental Health

If you find yourself in crisis or need support with your mental health in the evenings and/or weekends please seek help with the Crisis Cafe. They are always there to listen and help you in your time of need.

Mind Cafés have professional mental health workers who can offer you a safe space. They aim is to support people to reduce any immediate crisis and to safety plan; drawing on strengths, resilience, and coping mechanisms to manage their mental health and wellbeing.

There is no need to call, just drop in to find a safe place with hope and comfort and find your pathway to recovery.
